Medical Yoga

Yoga is an ancient Indian practice of self-realization that helps one on the way towards enlightenment.  It is a 5,000 year old practice that has gone through a rebirth in our western world into a form of exercise that consists of physical postures, breathing techniques, and meditation, the purpose of which is to improve control of ones body and mind and to enhance the body’s ability to heal itself.

I have been practicing and studying yoga for 35 years.  In order to help my patients heal and provide them with a self-help tool that can been performed anywhere and everywhere, I have compiled different sets of asanas (postures) to address specific problems.  Most of the routines, once learned, will take 15-20 minutes to complete.

I have developed routines for the following disorders, which can be personalized for your specific needs:

  • Neck and shoulders pain
  • Lower back pain
  • Arthritis
  • Depression and anxiety
  • Heart Conditions and High Blood Pressure
  • Asthma
  • Diabetes
  • Obesity
  • Poor vision
  • Sinus and Headache
  • Yoga for Stress and General Well-Being

How Medical Yoga Works…

Yoga postures align the muscles and bones, especially the spinal cord, freeing the flow of energy throughout the body.  Proper flow of energy allows the body to heal itself.  It strengthens the nervous system and allows for better responses to stress.
