Functional Nutritional Therapy

Functional Nutrition is a foundational component of functional medicine, which takes a systems biology-based approach to health and looks at all systems of the body as interconnected; a dysfunction in one area can lead to dysfunction in other areas.

Functional nutrition is highly personalized and focuses specifically on identifying and addressing the root causes of symptoms and of any imbalances in the body. An assessment by a functional nutritionist includes a review of diet, lifestyle, gut health, health & medical history, labs, relationship to food, genetics, individual biochemistry, psychological factors, and environmental exposure to toxins.
