Bone Broth

Packed with nutrients, this delicious homemade stock turns any soup you make into a masterpiece.  It’s also very flexible- if you don’t have the exact ingredients below, simply swap out for the approved veggies you do have on hand.

You can enjoy it by the mugful, or use it in the mornings to simmer your greens & poach your breakfast eggs.

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs chicken wings
  • 2” ginger, thickly sliced
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 4 cups chopped kale
  • 1 bunch celery
  • 1 bunch parsley or 1 bunch basil
  • 1 onion, halved
  • 1 fennel, halved
  • peppercorns
  • 2 bay leaves
  • juice of 2 lemons
  • 18-20 cups quarts cold, filtered water
  • sea salt

Directions:

  1. Add all ingredients to a slow cooker*. Toss well & cover with cold, clean water.
  2. Simmer on low 12-24 hours. (You may need to add more water.)
  3. Remove solids, then strain.

*If you don’t have a slow cooker, simmer in a stock pot for 3-4 hours.
